Composite superior officer's sword, chiselled and gilded brass guard in style, modelled on those of the imperial guard's superior horseback hunters' officers, quillon finished with a lion's foot holding a terrestrial sphere, rocket covered with leather, watermarked; beautiful round-backed blade from the Klingenthal Manufacture, signed: "Klingenthal", engraved and gilded to the third, adorned on each face with an imperial eagle in a laurel wreath; iron sheath with two gilded brass belay bracelets, carved with foliage and palmettes; length 106 cm. (Blade with small punctures along its entire length; impact to the sheath, last third). Period: only the blade and the hinges are from the First Empire period. Good condition.
