M de LA LAPINIÈRE, the imaginary successor to Gérard the Lio - Lot 20
M de LA LAPINIÈRE, the imaginary successor to Gérard the Lion Slayer. His adventures and disappointments. Lithographed by Vor Adam H. Gache, undated (circa 1855). Oblong quarto, illustrated cardboard binding. 24 numbered plates depicting 116 subjects. Some copies bear only the inscription “by Vor Adam” on the title page instead of “by a grenadier and former hunter of the National Guard.” The copy presented here is one of these rare examples.
