Officer's dagger for mamelukes of the Imperial Guard, person - Lot 298
Officer's dagger for mamelukes of the Imperial Guard, personalized pattern, gilded brass guard, gadrooned cross to the pattern, different cap chased on the top with foliage surrounded by pearls, fluted ebony spindle; curved double-throated blade adorned with a special decoration representing black foliage on an ice-polished background, over the entire length; gilded brass scabbard to the pattern; length 51.5 cm. First Empire period. Very good condition. PROVENANCE: former Gilbert PUTTERIE private collection. This piece bears no hallmark or signature, but is unmistakably of the period, and is certainly a fancy mameluke officer's model.
