Silvain PETIET was the third son of Claude Louis PETIET (1749/1806), Minister of War (1796/1797), Intendant General of the Grand Army, Minister Extraordinaire of the French Government in Milan, to the Cisalpine Republic, Senator in 1806, Grand Officer of the Legion of Honor on May 8, 1806.
His first son Pierre Charles Alexandre Claude, baron PETIET, prefect, born in Rennes on February 26, 1782, † in 1836.
Second son Auguste Louis, baron PETIET, deputy for Nièvre, born in Rennes on July 19, 1784, † in Paris on August 1, 1858.
His third son Silvain, general councillor for Deux-Sèvres, born in 1794.
In Maze-Sensier: Les fournisseurs de Napoléon (pages 85 and 86), we find a M. PETIET, page to the Emperor in 1808 and 1809 and first page in 1811, then assigned as lieutenant to the 8th hussars; this could be our Silvain
PETIET, his date of birth corresponding to the ages of the pages: in 1808 he would have been 12, in 1809 13 and in 1811 15.
BOUTET Nicolas Noël, born 1761 † in 1833, famous director of the Versailles factory, from year II to 1818; he worked mainly on weapons of reward, weapons of honor and luxury weapons, both bladed and firearms; these have achieved worldwide renown, thanks to their quality of execution and the originality of their models. He had a manufacturing depot in Paris, 1236 rue de la Loi (rue de Richelieu) in Year XI, then 87 rue de Richelieu in 1807; in 1823, as a private harquebusier, he was found at 23 rue des Filles Saint-Thomas, where he worked until 1831. He had a son, Pierre Nicolas, born in 1786 † in 1816, which sometimes explains the inscription: "BOUTET et fils".
