[VERSAILLES]. "Carte des environs de Versailles, dite des Ch - Lot 51
[VERSAILLES]. "Carte des environs de Versailles, dite des Chasses du Roi." Reunion of thirteen late eighteenth-century maps [circa 750 x 410 mm], each divided into twelve folded parts, lined with gray cloth, edged with blue silk and housed in a long-grained red demimaroquin case, spine decorated with gilt fillets and titles (period case). New edition circa 1820, produced by the Cabinet Topographique du Roi and accompanied by the following inscriptions: "Gravé par Bouclet, Doudan et Tardieu l'aîné", "Écrit par Giraldon et Lale [ou Delahaye ou Herault]". Twelve engraved maps and a "Tableau d'assemblage". These maps cover an area forming a quadrilateral that includes the regions of Mantes to the northwest, Gonesse to the northeast, Corbeil to the southeast and Épernon to the southwest. This series of maps, begun in 1764, was completed in 1807. It uses both the old and new metric systems of measurement. Some light foxing; wetness on verso of two maps. A GOOD COPY IN ITS RED HALF-MAROQUIN SLIPCASE.
