Part of a 20th century Vallauris earthenware service. Intaglio mark Vallauris/ M Giuge, intaglio mark in a medallion MARIUS GIUGE/ artisan potter/ Vallauris. Of contoured form, with brown and mauve enameled flamed decoration, comprising: 1 terrine and 1 lid, 1 salad bowl, 1 sauceboat and 1 tray, 1 low bowl, 1 oyster tray, 1 platter, 2 oval dishes (small chip on reverse of one rim), 2 oval dishes (small chip on reverse of one rim), 16 soup plates (one restored), 26 plates, 6 oyster plates, 14 dessert plates;chips and wear. Length (terrine): 36 cm Marius Giuge (1909-1980) produced ceramics in Vallauris from 1950 to 1975, when he left his workshop to his daughter. He specialized in glazed earthenware with engobe.
