Suzani" tapestry Linen hanging with 6 strips, one of which is in several parts, embroidered with polychrome cotton or silk threads and decorated with large rosettes on a floral background embellished with three ewers. Mounted on a blue fabric border (small tears, wear, stains, old restorations, part sunburned). Central Asia, Uzbekistan, Bukhara, 19th century 242 x 175 cm Suzanis ("needlework") are traditional embroideries from Central Asia, mainly Uzbekistan, whose decoration varies according to their region of origin (Bukhara, Nourata, Shahrisabz, Pskent, for example). The decoration of the hanging presented here evokes Bukhara compositions, often centered on large rosettes and numerous stylized flowers, arranged in symmetry. The decoration is embellished with three small pourers or ewers.
