In-4°, midnight-blue morocco, large personalized mosaic decoration on the front cover, smooth ornate mosaic spine, gilded edges, black moire lining and endpaper, cover retained, case decorated with two inserted copperplates (Creuzevault) 22 etchings by Édouard CHIMOT. Issued at 457 copies, this one (lettered N), ONE OF 22 HEADERS ON ANCIENT JAPON, including THREE ADDITIONAL STATES OF ILLUSTRATIONS (one in color), FOUR "ADDED" EAUX-FORTES, and all documents for one of the four "added" etchings (original signed drawing and sketch, copperplate and various states). Enriched with a FIFTH "ADDED" EAU-FORTE with its STATES, ADDITIONAL FRONTISPICE STATES, and a COPPER not used for the illustration.
