BOREL (Pétrus). Madame Putiphar. Paris, Ollivier, Libraire-Éditeur, 1839. 2 volumes in-8°, dark green long-grained demimaroquin with corners, gilded fillet on covers, smooth spine, untrimmed (Bretault). FIRST EDITION. Two frontispieces on chine, engraved by LA COSTE jeune after Louis BOULANGER. Antique annotation in fine of volume II: "L'auteur de ce romant a le coeur pur [...] qu'un diamant". From the Laroque library, with traces of a wet stamp on the titles, second frontispiece and last pages. Joints slightly rubbed; some freckling. (Carteret, I, 142).
