Auguste RENOIR (1841-1919. - Lot 46
Auguste RENOIR (1841-1919.
L.A.S., to Camille Pissarro; 1 page in-8°.
About the sale of a painting by Pissarro, Meule de foin. "This morning your painting was sold for 190 F. to M. O'Doart. We didn't know that M. Mignon had retained it without having seen it, on the sole description: Meule de foin (Haystack) for the same price. Rouart doesn't know what to do with M. Mignon", and he hopes that Pissarro will have another painting "with a small haystack, which we would give to M. Mignon, and whose price would be returned to you"...
Provenance: Archives of Camille Pissarro (sale November 21, 1975, no. 159).
