Senior naval officer's saber, hilt entirely in profusely chased gilt brass, repercée shell decorated with marine foliage and a roped anchor, chased double-sided, quillon in the shape of a fantastic animal, bottom of fuse fitted with a ring for the lanyard, long-tailed cap, black horn fuse; almost straight blade with two grooves and slightly rounded back, lower part finished with a central ridge, signed on the back: "Manufre de Klingenthal Coulaux & Cie"; leather scabbard with three gilded brass fittings, also profusely decorated with foliage and foliage scrolls and, on the chape, a corded anchor; length 85 cm. Third Republic period. Very good condition
