Rare petit Montmorency-type officer's saber of the Paris National Guard, chased and gilded brass hilt, openwork branch, shell with the arms of Paris: "la nef" in a medallion held by a ribbon, cast brass handle in the shape of a lictor's beam topped with the remains of the Nemean lion, openwork top with two fleurs-de-lis, slightly truncated; straight blade with a hollow pan and lateral groove along the back on the middle, engraved, blued and gilded one-third, signed on the back: "Klingenthal"; leather scabbard with three finely cut and filleted gilt brass fittings, iron stinger; length 96.3 cm.
Monarchie constitutionnelle period, 1790/1792. Very good condition.
