Three medals in two boxes: - Large silver medal engraved by H. Ponscarme F., obverse with bust of Napoleon III, reverse marked on the rim: "Dans le pays du suffrage universel tout citoyen doit savoir lire et écrire", in the center the attribution: "CLASSES D'ADULTES - PRIX OFFERT par MR LACROIX ST-PIERRE depute, decerne A MME CHABAL (soeur Felicie) INSTITUTRICE A DONZERE (Drome) 1868"; presented in its gilded red morocco case with large imperial coat of arms, velvet and garnet silk interior; diameter 68.5 mm, weight 148.6 g; case 99 x 101 mm. Second Empire period. Very good condition. - Small rectangular case containing two commemorative medals by Barre, one in patinated bronze, the other in silver, obverse with the profile of Louis-Philippe 1st King of the French, reverse with the triumphal arch and inscription around it: "Commence par Napoleon, termine par Louis-Philippe I, a la gloire des armees francaises, 29 juillet 1836"; diameter 25 mm, weight of the silver one 7.5 g; garnet-red morocco case, velvet and green silk interior; 42 x 78 mm. Louis-Philippe period. Very good condition.
