Curious oval buckle, perhaps a belt buckle for a lady of the imperial court, in gilt metal decorated on a green morocco background with an imperial eagle in a laurel wreath and a semi of bees, guilloche edging simulating a series of bees. On the reverse, a hallmarked silver plate, height 115 mm, width 82 mm, Second Empire period, good condition (one bee missing).
