Cuirassiers de la garde royale model 1816, iron breastplate and back, trimmed with brass rivets, with red cloth padding, one pocket on back of breastplate; the breastplate is adorned with a gilded brass sun, with the crowned arms of France and Navarre in the center; the back features a pair of red cloth-covered leather suspenders with two gilded chains, fleur-de-lys-shaped patelettes, morocco ties; red morocco belt. (The brace fastenings have been changed, the lion's pawls have been removed; the fabric under the two suspenders is missing; the belt is incomplete; the back and breastplate are very oxidized).
Restoration period. Fairly good condition.
