* Very rare mounted gunner's saber, model 1829, gilded brass single-branch hilt chased with palmettes, quillon chased with a fleuron, cap surrounded by laurel leaves and adorned, on top, with a large fleur-de-lys in high relief; it is hallmarked, below the quillon: "MANCEAUX", chagrin-covered, watermarked fuse; curved blade, gilded and one-third blued; white polished iron scabbard, with two bracelets of bélières; length 98.5 cm. (Wear to blued blade). Restoration period, 1829/1830. Very good condition. Almost all sabers of this model were transformed after July 1830, by removing the fleur-de-lys.
