Elegant light cavalry officer's saber, gilded brass single-branch hilt engraved with fillets and foliage, lugs decorated with a flower, cap also engraved with foliage and wavelets, ebony spindle, checkered; fine curved damascus blade with round back and lateral groove along the back, counter-edged, ending in a carp tongue, decorated one-third with gold motifs; scabbard entirely in gilded brass, with two bracelets, engraved with leaves and foliage, cut-iron sting; length 101 cm.
Consulate period, early First Empire. Very good condition.
