* Rare and beautiful Manufactures d'Armes senior officer's sword, hilt entirely in chased and gilded brass, limb decorated with two crossed rifles, tied by a ribbon, crossed with two large quillons chased with a lictor beam, oval pommel chased all over with a trophy of arms, plate decorated on the top with two intertwined snakes and, on one side, a three-headed dragon spitting lightning bolts, on the other, a large bird opening a cage to release doves, the back decorated with laurel leaves and the continuity of the two motifs on the sides, spindle chased with two bishop's caps and a double filigree; strong triangular-section blade with traces of engraving; length 100.5 cm. (No scabbard).
