Beautiful souvenir embroidery in multicolored silk, featuring a monogrammed medallion in the center: "A. L." and "G" interlaced, set on a trophy of arms, flags and a large lictor bundle, on top and below a perched bird, one holding a laurel wreath, the other an olive branch; below the lictor bundle hangs a medallion marked: "He serves HIS COUNTRY; The reward is in his Heart"; at the top and on the sides rose branches in bloom. On the back of the frame, the inscriptions: "Tres curieuse broderie, soie, fils d'or et d'argent de l'epoque revolutionnaire au chiffre entouré de nombreux attributs, de Le Graverand officier superieur, piece en parfait etat de conservation dans son cadre d'epoque" and, above: "Alexis Le Graverand mort a 57 ans a Rennes...". Gilded wood frame (wear), embroidery under glass; 35 x 30 cm. (Silk faded in some colors). Revolutionary period. Good condition.
