MARTINCAMP Earthenware jug with neck. Second half of the 19th century (some chips on the spout and base). H: 36.5 cm This type of jug was used during the "dizeu" (morning break) to carry the liquid left over after beating the butter called buttermilk. It was also used by shepherds on their way to the Tancarville marshes. Cf Les potiers de Martincamp by Thérèse Marie Hebert, exhibition and publication by the Musée municipal de Lillebonne.
