Late 18th-early 19th century, Marcolini period (small chip reattached at edge). D: 23.5 cm This "rothen und goldenen Drachen" service, created in 1730 for the Saxon Court, is described in the Dresden inventories as early as 1733. It was regularly reissued during the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries exclusively for the Saxon Court until 1918. It is copied from a Japanese original dating from 1690-1700. The original model of this service can be found in many European museums, including Dresden Palace (Germany), the Rijsksmuseum in Amsterdam (Netherlands) and the Victoria and Albert Museum (England).
