A red-tinted tortoiseshell and chased ormolu wall-mounted cartel, with a putto on clouds at the base; the case, decorated with foliage, rests on caryatid feet; below the dial, a bas-relief of a time allegory on a lambrequin; the base, richly decorated in rocaille with masks, foliage and garlands, ends in a leafy openwork base. The unusually large enameled dial is signed "Jques. Adré. Arthault à Paris", indicates the hours in Roman numerals and the minutes in increments of five in Arabic numerals; the plate is also signed and numbered 6.
