High flat-back ceremonial armchair in molded, carved and lacquered walnut with gold and silver scrolls and flowers on a black background; the armrests have wide scrolled grips with umbilicals; the front crosspiece has a large shell and curved apron; the front legs are arched and the back straight, joined by a sinuous H-shaped strut. Italy, 18th century. Embroidered silk trim with polychrome plant motifs (worn). H. 137 cm - W. 72 cm - D. 60 cm (Pitting and restorations).
