A title, 80 pp. of text (for seventeen parts) and fifteen large maps engraved by Abraham PEYROUNIN after Nicolas SANSON. Third edition, with text and maps identical to the first published in 1657. However, the dedication to Nicolas Fouquet (2 pp.), disgraced in 1661, has been deleted, the maps have been numbered and their initial address: "A Paris, chez l'Auteur [...]" replaced by: "A Paris, Chez Pierre Mariette [...]"; finally, two of them have been enlarged with a small compass rose (nos. 1 and 8). The two text sections "Amerique" (no. 1) and "Amerique septentrionale" (no. 2) correspond to the same map; ditto for the sections "L'Amazone" (no. 12) and "Perou" (no. 13).
