MEISSEN Porcelain group depicting an allegory of Africa, featuring a black woman wearing a turban and loincloth with polychrome flower motifs on a white background, standing on a mound in front of a covered basket with a wicker background decorated with gallant scenes in cartouches, forming a spice box. The handle of the lid is in the form of flowering branches. Model by Johann Friedrich Eberlein (created in 1741) 18th century, circa 1745 (one arm restored). H: 17.5 cm Similar white-enameled model in the Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg.
