Rare strong sword for the chevau-légers of the King's Househ - Lot 396
Rare strong sword for the chevau-légers of the King's Household, strong musketeer-style guard with four brass branches and openwork shell, body knot with two donkey steps, double pontat shell, one of the branches and part of the shell are removable with a screw and mortise on the plate, silver filigree spindle with braid-like stamped ferrules; strong straight half-spade blade engraved, in a cartouche: "VIVE LE ROI" and, on each side, foliage, on the other side, the crowned arms of France, with the same decoration; blade length 90 cm, overall length 110 cm. (Without scabbard). Circa 1750/1762. Very good condition.
