Tapestry "Les six Cyprès" after Mario Prassinos (1916-1985) woven at the Goubely factory (no. 2082) in Aubusson, 20th century, between 1960 and 1997. It bears a bolduc on the reverse, confirming this information, and a customs seal indicating French manufacture. H : 2.75 - L : 1.99 m Very good condition. The theme of trees, and Cypresses in particular, is very dear to Mario Prassinos, who sees the tree as the bearer of sap, the sign of life, and associates Cypresses with individuals. This tapestry was inspired by the various oil paintings on paper entitled Cyprès (1956). Many of Mario Prassinos' tapestries are held in the collections of the Mobilier National. Bibliography: Mario Prassinos, Actes Sud, 2005, p. 118-121. ATTENTION INVERSE ESTIMATE: H: 1.99 - W: 2.75 cm
