The Bahman-nama is an Iranian epic poem of 9,500 verses, written in Persian by Iranshah b. Abi Kayr around 1092-1108 and telling the adventures of Bahman, son of Esfandiyar. The oldest known copy is kept in the British Library in London, dated 1397-98. The poem tells the adventures of Bahman who marries Katâyûn, the daughter of the king of Kashmir, on the orders of Rostam. The latter is accompanied by the young Lo'lo' (Lu'lu') who is secretly her lover and whom she appoints as head of the Army and the Treasury. Lo'Lo' revolts against Bahman who flees to Egypt, manages to recover his kingdom, then leaves for Sistan to avenge Rostam's death.
