SAUCIERE AND DORMANT in silver (950). Paris, Jacques-Florent-Joseph BEYDEL (saucer), 1809-1819. The gondola-shaped body rests on a pedestal with a gadrooned ring. One side is finished with a leopard's head and acanthus leaves. The frame to which it is attached is shuttle-shaped. The rim is decorated with water-leaf friezes. The frame, marked with another silversmith's hallmark, is engraved with an azure M surmounted by an Empire prince's crown. Unstable assembly (leaning). H. 21 cm ; W. (frame) 29 cm ; Weights 725 g.
