It is in the latter city that he worked on the realization of the Neuen Palais in Potsdam and for the Berlin factory as a modeler and sculptor. This vase is part of a set of vases in the Renaissance style, of which five models are listed, and which would have been created for Frederick II of Prussia, known as Frederick the Great (1712-1786), Prince mainly warlike, he is nevertheless an enlightened Prince who will build the Palace of Sans-Souci, illustration of the Baroque architecture and decoration. Some of these vases have handles with numerous figures, others have simpler handles, even without handles. One of them, having been part of the collection of Kaiser Wilhelm II (1859-1941), is published by Georg Lenz, Berliner Porzellan, Die Manufaktur Friedrichs des Grossen 1763-1786, Berlin, 1913, n°50-52, pl. 11, a second one, coming from the Prendergast collection, published and illustrated by W. Jahrhunderts, Hamburg, 1993, no. 247-248, pp. 182-183), and a fifth vase was published in 1966 by Erich Köllmann (Köllmann, Berliner Porzellan, 1966, no. 49). H: 55,5 cm
