A small 18th century English (Chelsea) porcelain clock with gilt metal mounting The soft porcelain, circa 1745-69, the hard porcelain globe and enameled dial signed HIGGS & EVANS / LONDON later. Composed of a large rocaille arcature with a balustrade from which a river with ducks emerges and resting on an oval molded rocaille base, the upper part with two loves presenting a globe with the hours and surmounted by a rooster, with polychrome and gold decoration au naturel (some restorations and chips to the porcelain, the mechanism without guarantee of functioning). A similar model, from the collection of Baroness Ludlow, is preserved in the English Royal Collections (Inv. RCIN 27511). The firm of Higgs & Evans, was active in London between 1775 and 1825. H: 27,5 cm Correction: the mounts around the dial and at the base of the world map are gold.
