Naval officer's saber model 1837/1853, chased and gilt brass hilt with two branches and pierced shell adorned with a crowned anchor and aquatic foliage, long-tailed cap chased en suite, adorned with scallops and monogrammed at the top: "L B", quillon adorned with a dolphin's head, brown horn spindle; slightly curved blade with rush and counter-edge; leather scabbard with three gilt brass fittings, cap signed: "ROUARD À PARIS" and adorned, on the front, with a crowned corded anchor; it is presented with a gold passementerie strap; length 84 cm. (Some pitting on the blade; small lack at the scabbard seam). Second Empire period. Good condition.
