Officer's saber of the Vincennes hunters model 1837, brass single-branch hilt, with pierced shell decorated with oak leaves and laurels and two stars, quillon also decorated with stars, long-tailed cap chiseled at the top with oak leaves and laurels, horn spindle, filigree; slightly curved blade, with rush and counter-edge, hallmarked at the heel and signed on the back: "Manufre de Klingenthal Coulaux frères & Cie"; iron scabbard with two ram bands. (Watermark incomplete). Louis-Philippe period. Fairly good condition. The regiment of chasseurs de Vincennes, created in 1837, became chasseurs d'Orléans, in 1842.
