Left-handed flintlock shotgun, superimposed blued iron barrels, flats then round, the upper flats continue to the muzzles, gilded decorations to the breeches and muzzles with silver sights, they are signed on the upper flange: "DES SAINTE À VERSAILLES", calibre 15,5 mm, length 83 cm; left flat-body lock, engraved with a fillet and a trophy of arms at the rear, it is signed: "DES SAINTE À VERSAILLES", the two half plates bearing the batteries, joined with only a small fillet, panelled basins; engraved breech tail, held by two engraved headed screws; iron fittings, cut and engraved with fillets, trigger guard with push-button system allowing manual rotation of the barrels; walnut stock, checkered grip; non-original iron ramrod; length 124 cm. (Small repair at the end of the barrel). 18th century, circa 1780. Good condition. Pierre de SAINTE, or des SAINTE, or SAINTES (under the Revolution), harquebusier in Paris and Versailles, in 1747/1788; received master harquebusier, crossbowman and artificier, on August 10, 1747; ordinary harquebusier of King Louis XVI, in 1774 in Versailles; elected juror of the community in Paris, in 1769. His daughter married, in 1788, Nicolas Noël BOUTET. Place Dauphine, in 1769; at the Small Stables in Versailles, in 1774.
