General officer's sword with keyboard having belonged to the general Molitor, chased and gilded brass guard, curved keyboard, reperced, decorated in the center of a Minerva of profile in a crown of laurels, and on both sides, of a rosette, in the center of the branch a Minerva of face, pommel in the shape of stick decorated with swords and dragons ending by a head of lion, spindle with mother-of-pearl plates, striated; triangular blade engraved in thirds; leather scabbard with two gilt brass fittings; length 93 cm. First-Empire period. Very good condition. PROVENANCE: Descendant of the general, then marshal, MOLITOR, Gabriel, Jean, Joseph 1770/1844, marshal of France on October 9, 1823. Family DUPRÉ de SAINT-MAUR. Jeanne MOLITOR (1864) married in 1889 to Augustin DUPRÉ de SAINTMAUR (1855/1930). Sale in Pau, January 19, 1990.
