Dessert plate in Paris or Sevres porcelain,... - Lot 134 - Thierry de Maigret
Dessert plate in Paris or Sevres porcelain, with a motif printed in Sevres in 1811 for the service offered by Napoleon to Eugene de Beauharnais, Viceroy of Italy, decorated with views of Switzerland. On our plate, the colours of the wing motifs are brown instead of gold, they represent five cartouches decorated with profiles of ancient characters, light green, on a granite red background and, between these cartouches, six-pointed stars decorated with a motif in the same colours: a helmet, a cuirass, a shield, a lyre and the Lombard crown. The basin, bordered with gold, is painted with an ancient scene, with many characters; the back is marked: "NUMA POMPILIUS. Year of Rome 38"; it also bears the number: "7". This plate has no maker's mark, it could be the Manufacture de Stone, Coquerel et Legros ; diameter 23,5 cm. First-Empire period. Good condition
