Set of five rescue medals from the same family : - A large silver medal by Barre, obverse with the profile of Emperor Napoleon III, marked on the reverse : "MINISTÈRE DE LA MARINE ET DES COLONIES", attributed : "A JN Bte MARTINEAU MATELOT DE 3ME CLASSE - COURAGE ET DÉVOUEMENT - 1862" ; diameter 43,5 mm ; tricolor ribbon ; very good condition. - A silver merchant navy medal of honour, awarded on the reverse: "V. A. MARTINEAU - 1927"; tricolour ribbon with blue anchor on the white part; diameter 27,5 mm; very good condition. - A silver bronze medal of the lifeguards society "du dernier adieu", founded in 1888; black ribbon with white and tricolour stripes in the centre; diameter 32,5 mm; good condition. - A medal of the "Société des hospitaliers sauveteurs bretons", founded in 1873, in gilt metal, enamelled on the obverse with the arms of Brittany crowned; white ribbon with blue edges, embroidered with a black ermine; diameter 31 mm; good condition. - A silver medal of the "fédération nationale de sauvetage"; width 27 mm; very good condition.
