Muneret, oval miniature on ivory, signed on the right: "Muneret": Portrait of the Emperor Napoleon I in the uniform of a foot hunter of the imperial guard; later gilt brass frame with bélière, decorated at the top with a knot; on the back of the frame is engraved the inscription: "This miniature was given by S. M. Napoleon I to his Nephew Napoleon III"; height 54 mm, width 40 mm. Late First Empire period. Good condition. PROVENANCE: former Charles BOUCHÉ collection, then André De KONINCK collection, sale at Hôtel Drouot, Maître Thierry de MAIGRET, April 10, 2014, lot no. 24. MUNERET Jean, Désiré, active between 1800 and 1818, † after 1820; pupil of Jean-Baptiste Jacques AUGUSTIN, then of Jean-Baptiste ISABEY. He exhibited at the Paris Salon, from 1800 to 1814
