watercolor pencil drawing representing the figure of King Charles X: double "C" interlaced, surmounted by the royal crown, monogrammed on the right; embroidery or weaving model; pitchpin frame; drawing 22 x 17 cm. Restoration period. Very good condition. SAINT-ANGE Jacques Louis de la HAMAYDE de, 1780/1860; charged by Alexandre Théodore BROGNARD, inspector of the Mobilier national, to create drawings for the various manufactures in charge of the Administration. He then began a long career as a painter drawing models for the making of tapestries, carpets and fabrics for the imperial and then royal manufactures, after the fall of Napoleon I. He was appointed draughtsman at the Imperial Furniture Factory in 1810, which became the Crown's furniture storehouse in 1816. In January 1819, he became draughtsman of the bedroom of Monsieur (the Count of Artois, future Charles X).
