Village church in Saône-et-Loire Paper mounted on canvas. Old label on the back on the frame OCTAVE TESTENOIRE / N° 17 / Landscape / Duclaux. Missing 27,7 x 43,8 cm Village de Saône-et-Loire, black stone and white highlights 23,6 x 43 cm Antoine-Jean Duclaux was a landscape painter from Lyon. After several stays in Naples he returned to Lyon in 1808 where he met several important painters of Lyon such as Pierre Revoil or Fleury Richard. He exhibited at the Paris Salon where he won the second gold medal in 1817. His works were bought by the Empress Josephine, the Duke of Berry, the Duke of Orleans, and later by Louis-Philippe.
