Count Olimpio Clemente Augusto Alejandro Aguado (1827-1894) and his nurse, 1828 Oval miniature painted on paper, signed and dated on the right "Passot 1828", representing him aged one year in the arms of his nurse on a blue sky background. In a rectangular frame in blackened wood and gilt bronze. On the back, the inscription in pen: "C(om)te Olympe Aguado and / his nurse Victoire Veny / (in Gennevilliers) / C(om)te O(limpio or Onésipe). Aguado / Compiègne 10 Sept. History: Count Olimpio Aguado (Paris, February 3, 1827 - Compiègne, October 25, 1894) was a French primitive photographer, son of Alexandre Aguado, a Spanish banker based in Paris, and brother of Onésipe Aguado, also a photographer. Olympe took photographs of animals, landscapes, portraits and tableaux vivants, scenes from the daily life of his aristocratic social milieu. His works are preserved in the Musée d'Orsay. He attended the studio of Gustave Le Gray, who introduced him to photography, and was a member of the Société héliographique.
