Chinese porcelain ewer. Kangxi (1662-1722). Of flattened glo - Lot 90
Chinese porcelain ewer. Kangxi (1662-1722). Of flattened globular shape, with a high curved neck ending in a cup, with an angular handle and a spillway, with blue-white decoration on the bellies of lake landscapes with figures in medallions interspersed with flowering rocks, restored.
H: 27 cm
The shape of this pourer is most probably inspired by metal models produced in Turkey and India that accompanied a basin.
For another model of similar shape and decoration, held in the collections of the Liverpool Museum, see by R.L.
Hobson, Chinese Porcelain and Wedgwood Pottery with other Works of Ceramics Art, London, 1928, n.233.
