HISTORICALS : For the first one, it is the representation of an episode of the battle of Wertingen, on October 7, 1805, in the morning, Prince Murat arrived at Donnawerth with the dragoon division commanded by general WALTER; he crossed the river to move quickly on the Lech, in order to seize a bridge located on the road to Rain and guarded by an Austrian cuirassiers regiment; Colonel WATHIER, at the head of 200 dragoons of the 4th regiment, swam across this river, charged the enemy regiment with impetuosity and remained master of the bridge. For the second, it is the representation of a fundamental episode in the history of the war against Austria. The Emperor forced the Austrians to lock themselves in Ulm and surrender. The troops march in front of him for five hours. This episode appears on the eastern façade of the Carrousel.
