Shotgun system Robert, mobile breech and without hammer, double barrel in damascus steel table with tobacco-coloured ribbon, marked with thunder tones of three small round punches, length 74 cm, calibre 15 mm; breech polished white, engraved with foliage and marked in a circle : "FUSIL ROBERT BREVETÉ À PARIS" and "Cbre 24", breech tail punched below: "T N" and numbered: "765", the opening of the breech arms directly the strikers; engraved iron trigger guard and underguard; walnut stock, squared handle; total length 116 cm. (Barrel restored in color). Period circa 1833/1840. Good condition. Jean Antoine ROBERT, harquebusier in Paris, 1829/1840, inventor of the first system without external hammer, military version, and a hunting version more known around 1829; he obtained for this system the gold medal of the Academy of industry, on June 12, 1833. Gold medal of 1st class at the National Exhibition of 1834 in Paris for his breech loading rifle. 6 bis rue Richet - 5 rue Jean-Jacques Rousseau (depot) - 17 rue du Faubourg Montmartre, circa 1840 (store) - 3 bis rue du Coq Héron.
