Large flintlock blunderbuss, barrel with two registers, octagonal then round on the half, strongly blundered at the end, the three upper sides are damascened in gold, the one above is marked : "CANON-TORDU" ; breech tail with sight ; round body lock signed : "PEURIÈRE À ST-ÉTIENNE", swan-necked hammer with safety at the back, on the lock body, roller battery spring; cut iron fittings, white polished finish; walnut stock, checkering of the handle forming rhombuses; iron rod pierced at the end; length 99 cm. Late 18th, early 19th century. Very good condition. PEURIÈRE, harquebusier in Saint-Étienne, in 1783. A PEURIÈRE had the commission, or directed the commission, to supply the Manufacture of Saint-Étienne, in the year II. Roman PEURIÈRE (perhaps the same), harquebusier manufacturing in Saint-Étienne, in 1800/1832. He was a testator, in 1810, then judge at the commercial court. Exhibition of Paris, in 1806. Patent of November 22, 1817 for a rifle with super-oxygenated powder for the starter. Marking on a rifle offered to Napoleon 1st in 1806.
