Upper officer's sword, chiselled and gilded brass guard, flat branch with a throat forming a projection at the upper part, shuttle-shaped mumps decorated with a trophy of arms, quillon finished with a foliage button, octagonal pommel slightly German style decorated at the upper part with a frieze of laurel leaves, fuse in ebony squared; curved blade with a hollow pan and lateral groove along the back on the half, engraved, gilded and blued on the third, signed on the heel: "N - K" (Solingen); wooden sheath covered with long-grained morocco, metal stitching in gilded brass, with three gilded brass trims decorated with foliage and, at the ends, with half a rose window, each decorated with a battle scene, on the cope and central trim, and a camping scene on the bouterole; length 1 m. Consulate period, First Empire. Very good condition, close to new.
