Very rare percussion test cavalry carabiner model 1830, with breech loading, executed on the same system as the rampart rifle model 1831, one-piece forged barrel with breech block, stamped: "G" and "L V" in diamonds, on one side, and, on the other, signed: "Mre Rle de Charleville" and dated: "1830", caliber 17.1 mm smooth; square breech, articulated to receive the Bruneel cartridge, it is closed by a wedge at the back equipped with a lever, hammer hitting directly on the breech; punched brass fittings: "L" surmounted by a star, iron trigger guard, the left side is equipped with a ring; walnut stock with short shaft punched: "P C" crowned, button dated: "FER - 1830 - L V - C", the center marked: "M R"; length 87.5 cm. Louis-Philippe period. Very good condition, close to new.
