Very rare flintlock infantry rifle of the consular then imperial guards, barrel with sides then round, stamped: "C A" interlaced, "E F" and dated: "1807", calibre 17,5 mm, length 113,5 cm; breech tail marked: "M 1777"; lock stamped: "D B" surrounded by foliage in an oval (Daniel Bouyssavy) and signed: "Mre Imple de Versailles"; special brass fittings, stamped: English capital "D", butt heel finished with a flaming grenade, trigger guard and trigger guard in one piece, counter-platinum with a return, square wings; walnut butt, marking not visible, only the ankle remains without marking; iron rod; total length 152.2 cm; it is presented with its white stitched buffalo strap and a sleeve bayonet. (Two small cracks in the heel of the stick). Early First Empire period, 1806/1807. Good condition. PROVENANCE: old Christian ARIÈS, Charles MARCHAL collections, TAJAN sale on 25 October 1999, n° 72.
