Court sword, chased iron guard with gold background decorated with flowers, foliage and gadroons damascened with small gold fleurons, spindle entirely filigree with twisted silver and flat vermeil threads; strong triangular blade signed on the heel: "FORTIER fourbisseur rue Dauphine à la Tête noire à Paris" and, on the other two sides: "De la Manufacture de la marque à l'ancienne corne de cerf à Solingen"; leather scabbard with two engraved iron fittings; length 99.5 cm. (Later leather, both fittings are period but not in suite with the guard). Louis XV period. Good condition. FORTIER, merchant and furrier (1750/1777), privileged furrier of the King, in Paris (1774/1777).
