The Statutes of the Order of the Holy Spirit were drawn up by Henry IIIme. of France and Poland in December of the year M. D. LXXVIII. S. l. Paris], De l'Imprimerie Royale, 1740. In-4°, red morocco, fine golden serrated wheels framing the plates, fleuron with the emblem of Holy Spirit in the corners, royal coat of arms in the centre, spine with ribs decorated with a fleur-de-lys seedling and alternating heraldic flames, title piece in morocco, blue tabis guards, gilt edges (contemporary binding). A title adorned with the collar of the Order, three headbands, three culs-de-lampe and a letter engraved by Sébastien Le CLERC. Bound in fine bookbinding: a calligraphic manuscript leaflet bearing a list of six knights appointed at the end of the 19th century and in the 20th century. VERY NICE EXAMPLE in a RED MAROQUIN BINDING with the EMBLEM of the ORDER.
